PRHI is Nation's 7th Qualified Entity
PRHI Certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to Receive Medicare Claims Data to Help Consumers in Western Pennsylvania Make Better Decisions about Their Providers
Only the seventh organization across the country to be so designated On March 27, 2013, Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative (PRHI) received notification from CMS that we have been certified to receive Medicare fee-for-service claims data. In partnership with the Commonwealth’s Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO), Quality Insights of Pennsylvania, we will identify quality information especially important to consumers and create fair, accurate, and user-friendly consumer reports. As Karen Wolk Feinstein, PhD, President & CEO of PRHI remarked, "For 15 years, PRHI has sparked research, trainings, and demonstrations to improve the quality of care in western Pennsylvania. With access to this remarkable data set, we not only serve as a neutral, trusted mechanism through which consumers obtain information to make better decisions about their healthcare providers, but also can better pinpoint deficiencies, identify improvement opportunities, and help local providers perform better." |
